Today, we’re thrilled to announce a transformative partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) that establishes poolside as a first-party AWS offering. This strategic relationship means poolside's product and models are now available to be contracted directly from AWS, marking a significant milestone in our trajectory.

It all started almost a year ago – at a time when we were looking to secure 1,000 GPUs and find a partner with whom we could scale. Our relationship grew from our first training cluster earlier this year to now our 10,000 GPU cluster and, fast-forward, executing on a unique and ambitious go-to-market plan together with AWS that fundamentally accelerates our future.

We couldn't be more excited about what this means for our customers and for us. We found in AWS, a team that like us deeply cares about customers and executes relentlessly.

In practice...

A first-party AWS experience offers enterprises access to our product and models just like if we were a native AWS service. This allows enterprises to start using poolside without additional contracting, simply by accepting AWS standard T&C’s, by burning down their existing AWS spend commitments, and by securing the same level of enterprise support, security, and governance they expect from any AWS services. Through EC2 availability and a seamless Amazon Bedrock integration, enterprises can start deployment straight away.

A logical next step

poolside was built for enterprise from day 1 given our ability to deploy on our customers’ side, and our focus on prioritizing governance requirements and data privacy needs. At poolside we don’t use customer data to train our foundational models – and we can do so thanks to our approach to improve models via Reinforcement Learning From Code Execution Feedback, or RLCEF. It allows us to push past the limit of available code and reasoning data 1, generating synthetic training data at scale. This gives our customers the best of both worlds: sophisticated models in their developers’ hands, with the assurance that their most important asset – their data – stays private.

Our partnership and tight integration with AWS delivers precisely this – it allows customers to run poolside within their AWS Virtual Private Cloud and leverage AWS's enterprise-grade security infrastructure, to maintain control over their IP and deploy poolside where their data lives.

This, as they say, is a big deal. poolside foundation models are designed to be fine-tuned with customers’ codebases and data, producing a proprietary and tailored software engineering oriented model. Deploying poolside models where data is stored, within a company’s firewalls, on the world’s most secure cloud, and with no data shared back with us, is the manifestation of our core principles. We believe companies shouldn’t have to mortgage their future and compromise their security or governance standards to build their own intelligence layers.

As we continue to work on offering increasingly more choice to customers, we are excited to be leveraging AWS Trainium chips to power inference for our malibu and point foundation models. Trainium enables optimal price performance for customers and enhanced availability. As of today, poolside foundation models can now both be powered by Trainium or NVIDIA chips. 2

Despite the unparalleled experience that poolside on AWS offers, we remain committed to flexibility in deployment. We continue to support air-gapped environments, on-prem deployments, and other cloud environments to meet diverse enterprise needs.

Accelerating our vision

poolside exists to bring about ubiquitous software intelligence to the world. We believe everyone should have the ability to build and create software of all types and we intend to make this happen over the course of the next several years starting with software assistance and fullstack solutions for developers and enterprises around the world. This partnership dramatically accelerates this vision by making us accessible through the world's leading cloud platform. From our foundation models to fine-tuned enterprise solutions, everything is now available directly through AWS, backed by the infrastructure and support enterprises trust.

Getting started

Currently, we're focusing our efforts on highly complex environments. If you're interested in accessing poolside through AWS, let's discuss how we can bring the next generation of AI for software engineering to your engineers while maintaining the security and control your enterprise demands.

Our partnership with AWS is a critical step to building the AI future we all deserve and we couldn't be more excited about what's coming!
