ABOUT OUR TEAM

We are a remote-first team that sits across Europe and North America and comes together once a month in-person for 3 days and for longer offsites twice a year.

Our team comprises a combination of research and engineering-oriented profiles. Everyone deeply cares about the quality of the systems we build and possesses a strong foundation in software development. We believe that good engineering leads to faster development iterations, which allows us to compound our efforts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You would be working as part of our team, focused on designing and building systems that help our models provide better answers to customers’ use cases. This position is not only about searching with different retrieval algorithms. We are seeking someone to assist us in designing the capabilities that future autonomous agents will need to solve complex tasks.

YOUR MISSION

To build the tools and search/retrieval systems that expand the knowledge base of our models through agentic behaviour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement large-scale data ingestion pipelines

  • Experiment with retrieval algorithms

  • Design agentic tools that bridge the gap between model capabilities and data, making our model results more relevant

  • Ensure these capabilities are part of the product and of the model training process

  • Follow the latest research on LLMs, search, RAG, agentic tools, and source code generation

  • Propose and evaluate innovations that help LLMs solve the complexity behind context in very large organizations

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong programming skills in either Go, C, C++ or Python (we are open to polyglot engineers from other languages)

  • Strong experience in database and storage systems

  • Solid grasp of LLM fundamentals: How they work, what they are trained on

  • Comfortable with distributed systems

    • Data pipelines, distributed processing, fault tolerance, performance optimization

    • Message queues, event-driven architectures, e.g. Kafka, Google pub/sub

    • Clouds: managed services, storage. GCP, AWS, Azure

  • Engineering experience

    • DevOps: Git, Docker, k8s, Terraform, baremetal

    • Monitoring and alerting (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog)
